For three years I produced LIVE at the Purple Onion — a weekly stand-up comedy series at the legendary basement club at 140 Columbus Avenue in North Beach, San Francisco. The Smothers Brothers, Phyllis Diller, the Kingston Trio, and Maya Angelou had all played there decades earlier.
The show ran every week until the venue closed in August 2012. The San Francisco Chronicle covered the closing.
