HOW WE FIRST MET: Hani and I met at a professional networking event, which she hosts once a month. We were surprised to learn that we actually worked for the same company, VMware in Palo Alto. Because we worked in different buildings, we never saw each other at work, but infrequently emailed or kept in touch via Facebook. Last September, I happened to see her post in Facebook noting that she will be in Puerto Vallarta during the last weekend in September, which happened to overlap with when I was planning to be there. Again, via Facebook, we connected and planned to get together for a drink in PV. It turned out, we both happened to resign from VMware and both were taking a little time off before starting new jobs on October 3rd.
The get together in PV turned out to be one of the most unforgettable nights of my life. A beauiful night, an amazing setting, incredible connection with Hani, drinks and more drinks, capped by the most exotic experience of swimming in the bay at 3am. Our relationship, while still very new, has been complete bliss since. We are celebrating our first Valentine's Day together this year.
