Tim and Megan met at a Christmas party, hosted by a non-profit organization where Tim is a board member. This was in Boston. While Megan was waiting for her friend to arrive, Tim started a conversation. They chatted for a bit, and Tim gave Megan his fancy business card, then Tim departed to chat with other people.
Fast forward eleven months later. Tim is still a board member for the organization, but had not seen Megan at any of the organization's events. In November, shortly before Thanksgiving, Megan decides to attend an event.
There, she meets up with Tim again. Tim recognizes her face, but does not recall her name, nor where they had met. She says, "Hi, how are you?" Tim responds with, "Great!", and then he walks away (trying to remember her name). The event ends with them not saying more than a sentence to each other.
A few days later, another female friend invites Tim to dim sum. He does not want to give the girl any wrong signals, so he invites Megan to join him. Fortunately, Megan responds positively to the invitation, and together the three of them enjoy a dim sum lunch in Boston Chinatown. During the lunch, Tim and Megan get to know each other better. Megan is had lived in San Francisco, and Tim had a strong desire to move there. Megan had a lot of great ideas to help with Tim's tshirt startup business.
After the dim sum, Tim and Megan hung out during Christmas Eve + Christmas Day, and they hung out again during New Year's Eve. And, the rest is history.
